Please contact us at swissmountainbernese@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We have had Bernese Mountain Dogs in my family since the 1960s. My grandfather fell in love with the breed and participated in dog shows with his first Bernese, Bodie.
My childhood Bernese, Gem, was the best dog and after she died at the age of 13, it took a long time for us to be ready for another. I brought home Ruby in 2016, and Opal in 2020.
We provide you with a one year health guarantee that your puppy will be free from congenial defects.
We take pictures of the puppies every 2 weeks. Follow us on Instagram for more updates and pictures @swissmountainbernese.
Reservations are made on a first come first serve basis. The only way to reserve a puppy is to fill out puppy application, and once I have contacted you with approval, place a deposit.
You can submit a deposit with these options:
Be sure to send us a text or email just before or after you submit your deposit so we can link it with your reservation.
Our puppy take home bag includes the following:

Our dogs are our family, and once you have a Swiss Mountain Bernese Puppy, you are a part of our extended family. We are here to support you for the life of the puppy. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us and send updates + pictures! We will have private facebook litter pages for each puppy family to join to stay in contact.
The puppy food that we use is Hill's Science Diet Large Breed Puppy, Chicken and Oats Recipe.
However, if you'd like to switch the puppy to a brand of your choice, a slow transition is required. Here is an example of what it should look like:
Check with your vet before making a decision.
Other brands of food I recommend are:
Getting a puppy is so exciting! We want to keep you as engaged as possible in the process.
That being said, we have to operate with scheduled updates so that we can continue to provide the best possible care to our moms and pups while maintaining our normal life activities.
So while it may be exciting to request updated photos every other day, we ask that you please adhere to our update schedule. A good rule of thumb is, we give photo updates every 2 weeks.
So expect photos at:
First of all, you can always fly into town and pick up your puppy from us. We can meet with you at the Airport and hand you the puppy there for a fee. Please contact the airline to learn regulations surrounding your ability/requirements to fly with your puppy in the cabin. We do not allow our puppies to fly as cargo.
Or we can fly the puppy to you using a flight nanny. Prices vary based on flights and nanny fees. We offer additional add-ons listed in our Puppy Application.
Final payment is due 5 days before "Go Home Day".
If we are flying the puppy to you, final payment (including any shipping costs) is due as soon as we provide your airway bill number and plane ticket information. That typically happens within 2 to 5 days of us flying the puppy to you.
The final payments can be made via bank transfer, cash/cashiers check, or Zelle.
We currently sell our puppies as family pets. Our dogs come with a spay and neuter contract, we want what is best for our dogs long term.
As for spaying and neutering, we believe in delayed spaying and neutering, to allow the benefits of the hormones for bones and joint development. Please do not spay/neuter your dog until 2 years of age.
